  • As we continue celebrating 60 years of United Disabilities Services Foundation, we’re taking another look back at the moments that helped shape who we are today. For our fourth official #TBT, we’re heading to 2011—a year that marked another milestone in our journey. In 2011, UDS Foundation officially launched our Resource Center, expanding our ability to serve individuals with disabilities, veterans, and aging adults. The UDS Resource Center was created as a one-stop hub for individuals and families to find comprehensive guidance, tools, and support services tailored to their unique needs. Through this program, we’ve helped countless individuals navigate everything from care options and funding resources to accessibility solutions and community connections. Whether it’s helping someone find in-home care, mobility solutions, or service coordination, the UDS Resource Center continues to be a trusted support system for those seeking greater independence and quality of life. From our beginnings in 1965 to today, we are proud to continue growing and evolving to meet the needs of the communities we serve. Here's to innovation, impact, and 60 years of making a difference! To learn more about the Resource Center and the ways we can assist you or your family members in need, visit: https://lnkd.in/gGfUh4KP #UDSFoundation #60YearsStrong #ResourceCenter #EmpoweringLives #ThrowbackThursday

  • Celebrating Success: Robert’s Journey to Independence At UDS Foundation, we witness incredible transformations every day, and Robert’s story is one that truly stands out. We’ve had the privilege of working with Robert for about two years, and in that time, his progress has been nothing short of inspiring. With the right support and his own determination, he has overcome significant challenges and embraced new opportunities. ? Enhancing Daily Life: Last year, through the Adult Autism Waiver, we provided Robert with noise-canceling headphones as assistive technology. He was beyond grateful, sharing that they’ve allowed him to stay in the community longer without sensory overload—like enjoying shopping trips with his mom for nearly an hour longer than before. ? Finding Stability: After experiencing a difficult living situation earlier last year, his Community Support provider helped him secure temporary housing. During that time, he took the initiative to begin job searching—right after completing his Vocational Assessment. ? Employment Milestone: In just 10 days, Robert landed his first-ever job at Best Buy! He started working soon after with Supported Employment services, and he tells me he actually enjoys working! His bosses are accommodating, and he’s thriving in his new role. ? Living Independently: In August, Robert moved into his own apartment, where he’s successfully living on his own with support from waiver services. He’s also utilizing Uber vouchers to get to work, community activities, and the gym—expanding his independence even further. Every time we speak, Robert never fails to thank us, but the truth is—he is the one doing the work and making himself successful. His journey is a testament to resilience, the power of support, and the impact of Home and Community-Based Services. Here’s to celebrating Robert’s success and the many more to come! #UDSFoundation #SuccessStories #CommunityImpact #AutismSupport #EmploymentSuccess #Independence #HCBS

  • March is Women's History Month! At UDS Foundation, we’re celebrating by highlighting women with disabilities who have made a lasting impact. One incredible example is Tatyana McFadden - professional, a LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games champion who has shattered records and redefined what’s possible in adaptive sports. Born with spina bifida and adopted from a Russian orphanage, she went on to become a 17-time Paralympic medalist, proving that determination knows no limits. Her journey embodies our message: Live Your Possibility. This month, we honor the women who inspire strength, inclusion, and progress every day! #WomensHistoryMonth #LiveYourPossibility #UDSFoundation #DisabilityInclusion

  • A Heartfelt Gesture from a Young Supporter! We are deeply moved by a young student from Bainbridge Elementary School (Elizabethtown Area School District), who generously donated $26 to our UDS Service Dogs program in honor of her favorite service dog, Josh. Josh holds a special place in our hearts, as he was named in memory of PA State Rep. Brian Smith late son, who passed away in 2016. This heartwarming gesture is a reminder of the incredible impact service dogs can have in the classroom—providing comfort, support, and companionship to students. If you’re a principal, teacher, or guidance counselor interested in bringing the power of service dogs to your school through our Pups in the Classroom program, we invite you to learn more and apply here: https://lnkd.in/g8aEFP2e #UDSServiceDogs #PupsInTheClassroom #KindnessMatters #HonoringJosh #MakingADifference
