Union Pacific's Response Management Communication Center (RMCC) and Police Department achieved the prestigious Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) accreditation for the tenth consecutive year. Known as the 'Gold Standard of Public Safety Agencies,' this recognition highlights excellence in international policing and dispatching. “I can’t express enough my pride in our teams,” said Rod Doerr, vice president and chief safety officer. “Only a limited number of organizations achieve and keep the accreditation.” To earn and maintain the honor, Union Pacific completes rigorous multi-year self-assessments on policies, practices and processes, as well as coordinates assessment by independent evaluators with public safety expertise. CALEA conducts structured interviews with company personnel and the clients it serves to assess effectiveness and overall service delivery capacities. Commissioners award accreditation following a formal review at a public hearing. “Thank you to our employees for your exceptional service,” said Mark Rowley, senior director-RMCC. “This accreditation reflects countless hours of hard work and meticulous attention to detail.”

Last week, UP Ties hosted its annual Ties-giving event. At the event, we were honored to present our charity partner Canopy South with a check for $27,636.56 that we fundraised for them throughout the year. These funds will go towards Canopy South's mission to generate holistic and effective revitalization in South Omaha neighborhoods. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our efforts.
