Last week, ACEC CA Bay Bridge Chapter in partnership with BART and Bay Area LEEDS hosted our fourth Girl's in Motion Summit. This is a recurring event aimed at introducing girls to the careers available to them in transportation ?????? . At the event, women from a variety of companies and disciplines in the transportation field shared their experience in the industry and answered questions about their careers from the students in attendance. Following this discussion, I had the opportunity to lead students through an interactive challenge to redesign an intersection. The students all designed and developed creative and thoughtful models incorporating a "Complete Streets" approach, accommodating multiple forms of transportation. I am proud to be a contributor to an event that is so empowering, educational, and most of all ?fun? for our next generation of leaders. Cape seal resurfacing of the Upper Park Road from the roundabout on Manzanita to Horseshoe Lake Lot E will begin on Monday July 8th. The work will be conducted Monday-Friday and is expected to be completed by mid-August. Temporary delays may occur as crews and equipment maneuver through the area.
