Malnutrition doesn’t just affect children — it affects generations. When women lack access to proper nutrition during pregnancy, their children are more likely to face life-threatening malnutrition. The Child Nutrition Fund, launched by UNICEF with backing from the Gates Foundation and others — and now supported by our newest partner WTA Foundation — is transforming how we fight undernutrition on a global scale. By investing in lifesaving nutrition for women and children, the fund is helping to break cycles of hunger and shape healthier futures. A reminder this Women’s Month: Ensuring women have access to the nutrition and health care they need is key to building stronger communities and shaping a better future, for all. 130+ years. Five generations. That’s how long it could take to achieve full gender equality. The time for action is now. This International Women’s Day, join us to help spread the message and #AccelerateAction toward gender equality — for every girl, for every woman, everywhere.

Ahead of International Women’s Day, we’re thrilled to announce a new partnership between UNICEF and the WTA Foundation. ?? The WTA Foundation’s Global Women’s Health Fund — established in 2024 in partnership with the Gates Foundation — is uniting the power of sport and philanthropy to raise funds for the UNICEF-led Child Nutrition Fund to help close the women’s health gap, starting with improved access to prenatal vitamins. Worldwide, too many women face major barriers to basic health care. Prenatal vitamins are one of the most effective tools to improve maternal health, reduce infant mortality and ensure more children have the healthiest possible start in life — but nine in ten women in low- and middle-income countries don’t have access to them. Backed by global athletes, this partnership is rallying the world to change that. To the teams at WTA Foundation and all those who advocate for every woman, for every girl, #ForEveryChild — thank you.

Echoing a message from UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell: Global funding cuts will limit UNICEF’s ability to reach millions of children in need. For the third year in a row, governments around the world are pulling back on foreign aid—just as children face record levels of hunger, displacement and conflict. Yet, history has shown us what’s possible when we work together. Global investment in children has saved lives, lifted communities and helped shape a stronger, more stable world. That progress is proof of what can be achieved when we take responsibility for our shared future. At UNICEF USA, a phrase we come back to often is "We won’t stop." It means we won’t stop working for every child—no matter the obstacles. Not now. Not ever. When we invest in children, we invest in a safer, stronger and more prosperous future—for all of us. #ForEveryChild

"Any prolonged suspension on [humanitarian] activities is going to have a negative impact on those children, on those workers, on those people who have stayed in Haiti." UNICEF's James Elder discusses why this lifesaving work matters.
