关于我们
The Rutman/Och Advancing Women’s Leadership Initiative was created to educate high-performing young leaders who are committed to advancing women’s leadership in business and economics. Our goal is to graduate more students who value gender diversity and have the aspiration, knowledge, skills, and opportunities needed to pursue successful and meaningful careers, ascend into leadership roles in their organizations, and promote women’s leadership in their workplaces. Selected students may apply these lessons through discussions with guest speakers, women's leadership course and a project of their cohort's choice. We can also be found on Instagram @unhrutmanfellows

Have you had a chance to read this semester’s Rutman Roundtable yet? If not, feel free to explore it through the links below! These articles were written by junior-year students in our Rutman Leadership Fellows - a program dedicated to advancing women’s leadership in business and economics. It gives them the opportunity to share their insights, thoughts, and experiences on topics they are passionate about (and gives all of us the opportunity to learn from them!). A big thank you to our fall 2024 writers for taking the spotlight and raising awareness on women’s leadership, gender equity, and DEI through your thoughtful contributions. I’m already looking forward to the second half in the spring semester! You can catch the articles on the UNH Rutman Fellows page every other Monday! ? While both men and women can experience various forms of violence, women are disproportionately affected, particularly by sexual violence and intimate partner violence. According to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC), 91% of rape and sexual assault victims are female. Additionally, the World Health Organization (WHO) reports that approximately 30% of women worldwide have experienced physical or sexual violence by an intimate partner, while around 7% of women globally have been physically assaulted by a non-partner at least once in their lifetime. These experiences often lead to significant long-term impacts, including mental and physical trauma, disruptions to social and interpersonal relationships, and economic challenges. Although self-defense is not a guaranteed solution for preventing assault and cannot completely eliminate the risk of violence, it can empower women by enhancing their preparedness and equipping them with situational awareness and effective response techniques in threatening situations. Thank you to Kevin Haley for coaching our UNH Rutman Fellows through some important self-defense skills and strategies this week. The session was both informative and fun and we all appreciate you sharing your time and expertise with us! Tamara Scapicchio Lucy Gilson Luciana Echazu UNH Peter T.
