2.7 million cases of tuberculosis, the world’s deadliest infectious disease, were left undiagnosed in 2023, leaving people without treatment and risking further disease spread. How do we find and treat these 'missing' cases, including in communities displaced by conflict and disasters? By investing in frontline health workers and digital and data technologies that strengthen healthcare during crises. With The Global Fund and partners, we are delivering health services to refugees and returnees in Afghanistan and South Sudan, ensuring more people with TB are diagnosed and treated to leave no one behind and #EndTB by 2030. What are early warning systems and why do they matter for climate action? From cyclones and floods to droughts and wildfires, climate change is intensifying hazards. That’s why robust climate information and early warning systems are essential. They not only help us understand climate risks through data and forecasts but also translate that knowledge into timely, actionable alerts. This means communities, businesses, and governments can prepare and respond—saving lives, protecting assets, and reducing economic losses. On #WorldMeteorologicalDay, explore how UNDP Climate is partnering with governments and communities to build resilience and drive effective climate action. Agriculture consumes nearly 70% of global water, leading to scarcity. This is exacerbated by overuse of water for irrigation, unsustainable groundwater extraction, and pollution from chemicals. To make agriculture more sustainable and water-efficient, farmers can adopt smarter water use strategies. This includes using advanced irrigation techniques to reduce water waste, improving storage systems to preserve water supplies, recycling wastewater for agricultural use, and implementing regenerative farming practices to enrich soil health and improve drought resilience. Ensuring sustainable water use and watershed management to support long-term sustainable food and agricultural commodity production is key. On #WorldWaterDay, learn about sustainable agriculture and a more efficient use of water in farming. Read below and more at: https://lnkd.in/dnjdw7qY?

"The Pikialasorsuaq is not just an ocean or a unique wildlife area impacted by climate change. This is our home, our Nuna", says Okalik Eegeesiak, former International Chair of the Inuit Circumpolar Council, Greenland (ICC), an Indigenous organization leading the Arctic conservation. Glaciers are vanishing faster than ever. For the Arctic, the stakes are even higher. Global sea ice reached a record low in early February 2025 as Arctic Sea ice shrank to 8% below the monthly average. This #WorldWaterDay, we highlight the incredible work of the ICC, a 2023 Equator Prize winner, leading the fight to protect one of the Arctic’s last ice strongholds: Pikialasorsuaq. The ICC is proving that Indigenous-led conservation is key to securing the future of our frozen world. Discover how their efforts are safeguarding water security, biodiversity, and Inuit traditions. ?? Read the full photo story: https://lnkd.in/e58dDt8U

Clean water is NOT a privilege. It's a human right. Despite progress, billions of people still lack access to safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene. Water is essential not only to health but also to poverty reduction, food security, peace and human rights, ecosystems and education. #WorldWaterDay

Our next meal depends on forests! They protect soil, regulate water, and help crops grow. But we’re losing 10 million hectares of forest every year. This #ForestDay and everyday, let’s protect our forests, food and future for generations to come.

Glaciers are the planet’s natural cooling system. But climate change is fast-forwarding their meltdown. Melting ice disrupts ocean currents affecting weather patterns and food chains. This #WorldDayForGlaciers, let’s act now before we lose more than ice. https://go.undp.org/JtF?
