From 6-24 Oct 2024, DOALOS was back in Riyadh to implement its training programme in ocean affairs and the law of the sea for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, upon the request by and with the support of the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information of the Kingdom and with the assistance of UNDP Saudi Arabia. ???The webinar "Leveraging the UN Fish Stocks Agreement for Sustainable Fisheries Management in the Caribbean Region"?was organized by CRFM and DOALOS to share relevant information on the United Nations Fish Stocks Agreement in the Caribbean. The session provided an overview of the Agreement, the important fisheries in the region and the experiences of States Parties and regional fishery bodies, including CRFM, in implementing the Agreement ??. It also highlighted the challenges and opportunities for CRFM Member States in implementing the Agreement. Finally, attention was drawn to the "Project of Assistance to Strengthen Participation in and Implementation of the UNFSA", funded by the European Union, as a vehicle for strengthening awareness, understanding, participation and implementation of the Agreement. DOALOS was fully engaged at #COP16Colombia, contributing to various side events and discussions on strengthening international coordination for the conservation and sustainable use of marine biodiversity, and promoting a better understanding of the #BBNJ Agreement and its potential synergies with other instruments, frameworks and bodies, including the #KMGBF. #PeaceWithNature

With thanks to our colleagues and partners UN Biodiversity, DOALOS?co-organized another successful side event at #COP16Colombia highlighting the synergies between the #BBNJ Agreement and the Convention on Biological Diversity, including to achieve the goals and targets of the #KMGBF, drawing over 100 participants. #PeaceWithNature
