“YCP was already growing rapidly, but now we’re thriving with the help of Undivided Life.” – Peter Blute, Executive Director About seven months ago, we experienced our first major leadership transition as an organization. This crucial moment marked the shift in leadership from founder Jenn Baugh to our new Executive Director, Peter Blute. We could not have navigated this transition as successfully or as smoothly as we did without the guidance of our partners at Undivided Life. It’s incredible what we can achieve when we work together for Christ. Read more about our partnership with Undivided Life here: https://lnkd.in/dxAdt88i

Don’t miss out on a great start to each new week by subscribing to our newsletter Thank God It’s Monday!
I could hardly believe the guest list as I scrolled through the names: George W. Bush, then President Bill Clinton, Gerald and Betty Ford, Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter, Nancy Reagan, Rev. Billy Graham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris, Kevin Costner, and many former heads of state from around the world. The George Bush Presidential Library was opening the following week on campus, and I had waited several hours to get one of the few tickets reserved for current students at Texas A&M University. The opening ceremonies would start midday on November 6, 1997, several months into the first semester of my sophomore year. Unfortunately, I had a conflict that day - - an accounting test. With my ticket to the ceremony in hand, I visited my accounting professor’s office for a quick chat and a request. I wanted to find a different time to take the test so that I could attend this historic event. (continue reading) https://lnkd.in/grcaHHun

Want to hear a story of business made human?
I never expected to see Cody Slape on the calendar when the team was preparing for a two-day marathon test of a new concept we called Open Interviews. Our initial post announcing that anyone could book time with me to discuss a potential job at the company as part of our “building the bench” groundwork was incredibly successful. The post read: ???? ?????? ?????????????? ?????? ???????????????? ???????????????????? ???? ???????? ?????? ??????????-?????????????? ????????. ?????????? ?????????? ???? ???????? ?? 20-???????????? ???????????????????????? ???? ?????????????? ???????? ???????????? ???????? ?????? ??????????????. ?????????? ?????? ??????????????. Even though there was no job description and little explanation, every one of the twenty-six open time slots was reserved quickly. The candidates also submitted their resumes and a brief explanation of their respective areas of interest and expertise. As we reviewed the candidate pool, my excitement grew over their diverse backgrounds and wide range of career experiences. These twenty-six potential teammates included friends, strangers, and people we vaguely knew in the industry. Some sought senior-level roles, while others hoped for an entry-level sales job. Most had college degrees with some MBAs, but nothing prevented the young mother with a high school education and six years of administrative experience. The Open Interviews event was shaping up to be an exciting experiment and a test of my mental stamina. Open Interviews were a Huge Success Twenty-six people were each given a 20-minute virtual interview, and the interactions blew me away. (continue reading to learn more) https://lnkd.in/gWDuuTTS

When businesses and market economies function properly and focus on serving the common good, they contribute greatly to the material and even the spiritual well-being of society. Obstacles to serving the common good come in many forms—lack of rule of law, corruption, tendencies towards greed, poor stewardship of resources—but the most significant for a business leader on a personal level is leading a “divided” life. This split between faith and daily business practice can lead to imbalances and misplaced devotion to worldly success. The alternative path of faith-based “servant leadership” provides business leaders with a larger perspective and helps to balance the demands of the business world with those of ethical social principles, illumined for Christians by the Gospel. This is explored through three stages: seeing, judging, and acting, even though it is clear that these three aspects are deeply interconnected. The Vocation of the Business Leader = The Undivided Life
