Mohammed Alsaadi, doctoral student in Earth Science Systems and Policy and GSA for the Graduate School, hosted a drop-in event as part of the UND International Education Week. International Education Week is a week-long celebration of international education around the world. At Mohammed's drop-in event, he had various activities to introduce Saudi Arabian culture to others. Activities included tasting traditional coffee, learning about similarities between Arabic and English vocabularies, and learning some easy Arabic words. The Mentors Helping Mentors program was launched last fall by the UND School of Graduate Studies and UND's Teaching Transformation and Development Academy (TTaDA). This program, created by Diane Darland, UND Biology Professor, and Anne Kelsch, Director of Faculty Development, TTaDA, focuses on training graduate students to be effective mentors.
