Every year we're so excited when our students receive a QuestBridge Scholarship match, which provides recipients a full tuition scholarship to top universities. We have 48 finalists this year! Join us in celebrating this wonderful accomplishment!

How do you get students in middle school to love math? Illustrative Math curriculum will lead us to fulfill our mission at Uncommon, where every mathematics classroom is a joyful community of learners who are problem-solvers, flexible thinkers, risk-takers, and math lovers. We decided that making the shift to a new curriculum would support our efforts to dramatically accelerate student achievement. A special thank you to our partners Inspiring Girls USA for hosting our students from Newark and Camden at the BlackRock offices. Our students learned essential skills on managing their personal finances, budgeting and even got to network with BlackRock employees to learn more about potential career paths. Events like these from our High School Student Talent Team bring our students important opportunities to develop their passions and talents to support them in life and in the work force!

Today is Election Day! Our staff across all regions has been out and about voting during this election season. Some staff members even brought some future voters to the polls. Here are some of their "I Voted" stickers! ????

Some exciting news! GMA3 came to Uncommon Schools NYC Excellence Girls MS today to do a story featuring three of our students! They talked about what it means to be a leader, about their own student government elections, and what this presidential election means to them! Stay tuned for the story that airs Monday! ??

Twenty students from our North Star Academy and Uncommon Schools NYC high schools, attended a career exploration and resume workshop at CITI Bank HQ! Students learned about the trading and sales industry of CitiBank and met several CitiBank executives who shared their career paths and illuminated their day-to-day work.

We know Hunter wants to be a pumpkin for Halloween, but we think he could be a reporter too!?? News 12 Brooklyn stopped by Uncommon Williams Elementary to get some help from our students to report the weather.

We are so excited that 53 of our students across our Newark and Camden schools will learn about investing, finances, and much more at the BlackRock offices today!
