Virnika is tackling the inefficiency and expense of managing repetitive tasks in the restaurant industry, such as answering phone orders, managing reservations, and responding to Yelp reviews. Their AI-driven digital agents, like Penny, streamline these operations, reducing labor costs and improving customer experience while allowing staff to focus on in-person service. Virinika was co-founded by two UNC alumni—Charles Douthitt, a four-time entrepreneur who studied entrepreneurship at UNC, and Logan Whitehouse, a PhD in AI and Genetics from UNC.
