Join our team! We are currently hiring a program coordinator to serve with?UNCW College Advising Corps?(UNCW CAC). UNCW CAC is a?college access nonprofit that aims to extend post-secondary opportunities to low-income and underserved high school seniors in eastern NC. This full-time position is mostly remote, with occasional travel to campus and partner high schools. This position will support daily program functions, including working with college advisers, leading adviser recruitment efforts, managing program data, and organizing/?facilitating college adviser professional development. The mission of UNCW College Advising Corps is to empower low-income, first generation college, and underrepresented high school students in Eastern, NC to identify and pursue post-secondary education opportunities. We assist students by having one-on-one advising sessions with students and their parents/guardians. Advisers assist with comprehensive college application support, RDS (Residency Determination Service), FAFSA, CSS Profile, scholarship completion, admissions and financial aid award comparison and best-fit decision-making, obtaining fee waivers for college applications and standardized tests, and college-enrollment steps. Advisers also host college themed workshops to educate students and families on the college application process, present in-class presentations on various college topics, register students for standardized tests and connect them to preparation resources, and promote community- based resources.
