Exciting news!? Centers for Disease Control and Prevention awards $20M to academic institutions nationwide for a new Prevention Research Centers funding cycle. With FY24 funding, 20 PRCs will focus on research that helps turn scientific knowledge into public health practices to prevent chronic diseases like heart disease, obesity, and cancer. Dr. Kristen Hassmiller Lich and PhD Candidate Doyoung (Kelly) Kim, MSc have have been awarded HPDP's Planning Grant to study the relational dynamics of emotional well-being among family caregivers and individuals with cognitive impairment. This pilot study aims to reveal critical pathways that influence the mental health of caregivers and care recipients, paving the way for future interventions to support both groups.
