The UNC Finance Society is proud to introduce Ginger Jacobson, class of 2025. Ginger will join Goldman Sachs as a full-time Alternative Capital Markets Analyst in New York. She previously interned in the same division during the summer of 2024. Ginger has been a member of UFS since her freshman year at UNC and was previously Communications Director. Reflecting on UFS’s role, she noted: “UFS played a crucial role in providing me with the platform to expand my network across business professionals and recruiters but also among my peers.” She became interested in alternative investments due to the unique investment opportunities, portfolio diversification and customization, and higher potential returns. When returning full-time to GS, Ginger will rotate across hedge funds, private equity, private credit, real estate, secondaries, and more. When offering takeaways to underclassmen, Ginger shared: “Don’t limit yourself to certain companies or people. Attend every networking event possible and be proactive. Get out of your comfort zone, stay organized, and maintain relationships!”
