Multilingual Learners aren’t outliers, they’re the future. By 2030, their numbers in U.S. schools will grow by 90.5%. But, in many classrooms, literacy instruction still prioritizes English, with Multilingual Learners treated as sidebars rather than central to the learning experience. It’s time to change that. Structured Literacy provides the foundation all students need to become skilled readers while embracing the strengths Multilingual Learners bring to the classroom.
