???? “We remain restless for reform… shifting resources to #invest in Data, Digital, Innovation, Strategic Foresight, and Behavioural Science through our UN 2.0 initiative.” Yesterday at the 56th Plenary Meeting of the General Assembly, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres shared his Priorities for 2025 – and how UN 2.0 is the key to reform in the United Nations. Here are some takeaways from the Secretary-General’s Speech: ?? We have made positive advances in clean #energy, gender parity in education, declining HIV and malaria rates, and international commitments like the Pact for the Future. ?? There is an urgent need to address challenges including conflict, systemic inequality, the climate crisis, and regulations in #technology. ?? Key actions and plans in 2025 include reforming global financial systems, implementing COP29 and COP30 agreements, promoting governance in #AI, resolving situations in conflict regions, advocating for nuclear disarmament, and more. ?? We will achieve UN reform and efficiency through UN 2.0, strengthening the UN's operational capabilities through #Data, #Digital, #Innovation, #Foresight and #BehaviouralScience.
