I’ve stepped into the role of Head of Education for the Michigan Blockchain Club! I look forward to teaching Web3 fundamentals and blockchain technology to a group of 28 talented students who have been hand-selected through a rigorous application and interview process. My program will dive deep into the transformative power of blockchain, covering essential concepts and practical applications. Next up on the co-host slate are our friends from the University of Illinois, Illini Blockchain! Illini Blockchain is a student-run Web3 club at the University of Illinois, dedicated to cultivating the next generation of technology. The organization provides educational, professional, and hands-on project opportunities in both business and technical fields to empower students in this rapidly evolving space. Illini Blockchain's investing team competes in Dorm DAO, an investment competition hosted by Collab+Currency. The organization managed a fund of 25 ETH, securing 3rd place in Q1 with a return of over 44%, outperforming ETH by almost 8%! In addition, Illini Blockchain hosted an Innovation in Blockchain event with Google and Genesis, bringing together 150 students to explore opportunities in blockchain. Attendees learned about resources and support partners could provide for new projects like cloud credits, partnership sourcing, and software access to kickstart their journey! This year, Illini Blockchain launched a weekly speaker series, featuring industry leaders from top blockchain projects, providing invaluable insights to their members. UMD is home to 40,700 students and 14,000 faculty and staff, making UMD a perfect place to create a culture of blockchain innovation.
