Public Policy and International Relations @ UMD | MAIR Candidate | FEMA ONAC Fellows Team Lead

As the Spring semester ramps up, I wanted to provide a few updates on the past six months in my academic and professional career: Since joining FEMA's Office of the National Advisory Council (ONAC) in July, I’ve taken on a range of responsibilities, including helping to coordinate the Council’s in-person meeting this past September. This past fall, I had the opportunity to brief the FEMA Administrator on Council membership, and I recently stepped into a new role as Fellows Team Lead, guiding a group of five new Federal Fellows from the University of Maryland. A huge thank you to my fellow Fall '24 interns - Urja Patel, Luke Farren, Victoria Boger, Angelina Mussini, and Ella Lepkowski - for their teamwork and friendship, and to Rob Long and Sara Andresen for their invaluable mentorship and support. I am excited to continue as Team Lead this semester and continue to contribute to ONAC's vital work. In the fall, I was honored to be selected as a recipient of the University of Maryland College Park Scholars International Studies' Achievement Award. This award was given in recognition of both my contributions to the International Studies community as well as my accomplishments both inside and outside of the Scholars program. It was wonderful to receive this award from Professor Stacy Kosko alongside my colleagues Teeya Sahni and Dulce Ortiz. Most recently, I was selected as a Harold W. Rosenthal Fellow in International Relations from the Partnership for Public Service. This fellowship, given to a small group of graduate students in international relations, is made in recognition of a Senate staff member who died from a terrorist attack at age 29, and recognizes graduate students committed to a career in public service in the field of international relations. This semester, I look forward to continuing my coursework in International Relations, as well as completing my Bachelor's degree in Public Policy and International Relations from UMD. Thank you to everybody who has contributed in any way to my career in 2024, and can't wait to see what the rest of 2025 has in store.
