???? Last Thursday, our Emergency Department and Burn Center teams partnered with Chalmette Refinery for specialized training on treating Hydrofluoric Acid burns. Dr. Elizabeth Jennison, a world-renowned expert in industrial and occupational medicine from Honeywell Industries, shared invaluable insights and techniques for managing these unique injuries. Partnerships like this are essential to maintaining our role as leaders in specialized care. Nursing students were traditionally advised by senior peers to avoid stepping on the seal, as it symbolized respect for the institution. Disregarding this tradition was believed to bring bad luck.
