This morning we celebrated a HUGE milestone in the construction of the new UMC TLC2 Foundation Cancer Center with a beam signing ceremony! The new UMC TLC2 Foundation Cancer Center, opening in early 2026 on the main campus, will expand access to essential cancer care for West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. A joint effort by UMC and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, the center will serve as a destination for comprehensive treatment, integrative wellness programs, patient support, and enhanced research and clinical trials. This center will ensure that families across our vast region receive world-class cancer care and resources without the need to travel far from their community.

A huge thank you to our amazing UMC employees! ?? Your generous donations raised over $2,500 for the American Heart Association, and in return, you voted for Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Nick Skeen, to take a pie to the face! We’re so grateful for your kindness, enthusiasm, and commitment to making a difference. And Nick, we hope you found that pie as filling as it was fulfilling!

Join us in celebrating our November Employee of the Month, Brandi Lara! When a family was airlifted to UMC following a car accident, they arrived without any belongings. Seeing their young daughter reminded Brandi of her own child, and she was moved to help. She not only bought back-to-school clothes for the girl but also purchased comfortable outfits for her hospital stay and toys to keep her entertained. Brandi, your kindness makes a such an impact, and we are so grateful to have you on the UMC team! Congratulations!

The PHIL Award (Pulmonary Health and Illnesses of the Lungs) from The FACES Foundation recognizes outstanding respiratory therapists who provide care and treatment for patients with respiratory illnesses. Veterans Day is a remembrance of all those who took the oath and paved the way for us. Today we want to thank the select group of people that have been willing to put their life on the line for our country.

Last night, we had the joy of celebrating a UMC family wedding! UMC Police Officers, Angel Serna and Veronica Greve, were married in a beautiful rooftop ceremony atop the UMC parking garage. The two met three years ago after joining the UMC Police Department. Adding to the significance of the day, UMC Police Captain Chris Garza officiated the ceremony!
