Hugely productive couple of days at Ultra Maritime’s Braintree site with our partners VLD Korea Co. Ltd, introducing them to the full breadth of our portfolio - and to our CEO Carlo Zaffanella. This is where we manufacture the Next Generation Surface Search Radar, positioned at one of its test locations in the picture below and, thanks to its extraordinary ability to detect small targets close to the water, to be installed on all of the US Navy’s surface ships. ?? Marking another milestone in our journey as we opened our new Loudwater site in the UK! More than 100 of our dedicated team members came together in celebration, enjoying good food and even better company - a testament to the camaraderie that makes up our strong workforce. This team proudly develops and builds solutions for UK Royal Navy vessels such as Type 23 frigates, Vanguard class submarines, Type 45 destroyers and Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers, among other vessels. Recently, Early Careers representatives from Ultra Maritime were able to visit the BAE Systems shipyard in Barrow, England. During the trip, the group had the unique opportunity to observe the complex process of manufacturing a 17,500-ton submarine for the Royal Navy. This included viewing sections of HMS Dreadnought, the first of the new Dreadnought-class submarines. The team also stopped at the Submarine Academy for Skills and Knowledge, where the group met with apprentices undergoing their trade training, offering valuable insights into the next generation of skilled professionals.
