Words are powerful, but they can also be empty. Actions prove your commitment to rectify. Next time you: ? Miss a deadline due to poor time management ? Offend a colleague with a careless remark ? Forget to acknowledge someone who helped Don’t only apologize. Do something about. Here's why changed behavior is the best apology: ? Builds empathy and trust: ? It shows you've taken their feedback to heart ? Strengthens relationships: ? It shows respect for your colleagues ? Enhances your reputation: ? As a reliable and trustworthy professional ? Creates a culture of accountability ? Inspiring others to do the same Here are 5 ways demonstrate changed behavior: 1/ Acknowledge your mistakes ? Take ownership and apologise sincerely 2/ Actively listen to feedback: ? Seek to understand their perspective 3/ Make amends: ? Take concrete steps to course correct 4/ Demonstrate new behavior: ? Model the change 5/ Be consistent: ? Demonstrate new actions over time Mistakes are natural. We all make them. The difference lies in what we do after. ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ?? Weekly Newsletter! SERVANT LEADERSHIP!!! Tap the link below to read our other newsletters!!?? https://bit.ly/KTNL0401 Robert K. Greenleaf first popularized the phrase “servant leadership” in “The Servant as Leader”, an essay published in 1970. Greenleaf believed the betterment of others to be the true intention of a servant leader: “I serve” in opposition of the traditional “I lead” mentality. This is different from traditional leadership where the leader’s main focus is the thriving of their company or organization. In Servant Leadership, instead of the people working to serve the leader, the leader exists to serve the people. According to Larry C. Spears, former president of the Robert K. Greenleaf Center Servant Leadership, below are the 10 most important characteristics of servant leaders: ? Listening ? Empathy ? Healing ? Awareness ? Persuasion ? Conceptualization ? Foresight ? Stewardship ? Commitment to the growth of people ? Building community People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care. - John C. Maxwell.
