Last week we had the honor of attending the NRV Regional Water Authority Grand Opening. This occasion celebrated the years of hard work and dedication of the Authority, CHA Consulting, Inc., and the Ulliman Schutte team on the WTP Modernization Improvements Project. ? This event gave us the perfect opportunity to share a video featuring Project Executive Adam Thompson and NRV Regional Water Authority Executive Director Caleb Taylor discussing the scope of the plant improvements and the positive impact this project had on the plant and the surrounding community. The video (although long), is only the tip of the iceberg of everything that went into this special project. Congrats to the Authority and the project team on their success! https://lnkd.in/eQAjDutJ

We are extremely proud of our project team at the Large Diameter Sewer Rehabilitation (LDSR) project. Alongside Louisville MSD & our design partners Brown and Caldwell, we won The Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) 2024 National Design-Build Project/Team Award in the Rehabilitation, Renovation, and/or Restoration category. It is an honor to receive recognition for the hard work that MSD and our team have accomplished throughout this project. The project will also go on to compete in the same category for a National Award of Excellence which is to be announced at DBIA’s Design-Build Conference & Expo Awards Ceremony this November. Furthermore, we are pleased to share that the project is also a finalist for the Best in Design - Engineering category. Way to go team!

Summer recap! We've had a busy summer chock-full of exciting community outreach events. Here's a few of the highlights: Our James River SWIFT project team out in Virginia Beach is continuing to go full tilt implementing our Community Commitment Plan. A couple of our favorite recent activities included our annual participation in Engineering Day at BC Charles Elementary School (where we also recently donated school supplies to equip students for the new school year) and building a playset at the Virginia Living Museum. A lot has also been shaking in Louisville on the community outreach front -- we celebrated the opening of the new Nature Play Area at Chickasaw Park with Louisville MSD, and we welcomed University of Kentucky students and members of the Army to our Paddy's Run Flood Pump Station project for tours. We've enjoyed every opportunity to engage the public and give back to our communities -- and we're looking forward to keeping the positive momentum and good vibes going!

Lions, tornadoes, and power outages, oh my! Although we've had to endure a few of nature's challenges, we still had lots of fun presenting on the SMART Project at the Ohio One Water Conference with Montgomery County, Ohio (OH) and Hazen and Sawyer. Our team talked through various supply chain and market challenges and how the Progressive Design Build model helped realize benefits that ensured a successful project.

As we wrap up the New River Water Treatment Plant Modernization and Chrisman Mill Pump Station CMAR project in Radford, VA, we're reflecting on how this project demonstrated our team's ability "to do more with less." As Project Executive Adam Thompson puts it, "Time after time, as a challenge was presented, the entire team worked seamlessly together to analyze the options, predict the outcomes, and arrive at the absolute best decision – a true tribute to the value of CMAR. This teamwork began in our first precon meeting and continued through the construction phase. It was very rewarding to be part of a collaboration that culminated in delivering this project for the benefit of NRVRWA and the New River Valley community." Adam's sentiment is echoed by Caleb Taylor, the Executive Director at NRV Regional Water Authority, who specifically reflected on how the flexibility of CMAR allowed the team to design-to-budget and to leverage Ulliman Schutte's "innovative and proactive project controls to keep our project moving forward during the pandemic and the associated supply chain issues that everyone encountered during that time." We're grateful to have been a part of this chapter of NRV Regional Water Authority's history – a well-deserved congrats to all involved!
