After months and months of planning, we pulled off our first ULI NE TAP (technical assistance panel) this week! Wow! I’m exhausted, but also energized after being in a conference room for an intense 36 hours with this phenomenal group of folks. If you’ve got a challenging site, this is the group to solve it. We came in as colleagues and left as friends. We will be scheduling a public presentation of what the group came up with so stay tuned! An incredible opportunity for TIF education, connecting with the AEC community, and hearing directly from the big influencers of our built environment. ULI is the puzzle piece that Omaha has been missing!!
On Wednesday, ULI Nebraska kicked off the morning with the "But For" TIF Workshop! We delved into the basics of Tax Increment Financing with a TIF 101 presentation, exploring how it can transform neighborhoods and spur vibrant neighborhoods. The local panel brought insights on TIF's application and community impact throughout Nebraska. The highlight? A powerful keynote from Heather Worthington (she/her) of Urban3, who captivated us with innovative data visualization to examine economic opportunities and build forward moving cities. Thank you to our speakers, panelists, and all the attendees who made this event a tremendous success. Together, we’re shaping the future of development in Nebraska.??
