This weekend ULI joined forces with the City of Atlanta’s NPU University for a day of UrbanPlan. We had three passionate and excited teams come up with their proposals for the future of Elmwood. Thank you to our volunteers, Scott Cullen, Todd Semrau , Lisa Jebodhsingh , Francis Rozier, Nicole M Hall, CPSM , Tom Choi, Sylvia Kline, and Daryl Rolle for spending your Saturday with us! ? We will be continuing to hold UrbanPlan workshops with NPU University next year. Keep an eye out for registration!?

It was a beautiful day at Foxhall Resort for our 10th annual Sporting Day event! Attendees were able to participate in a slew of outdoor activities, including fishing, cornhole, and even a sporting clays competition. Today marked the first WLI breakfast of the season! We partnered with Women's Affordable Housing Network (WAHN) for this program, Access to Capital for Women: Where is the Money?!, amplifying our collective reach of women working impacting, “agitating”, and redefining the industry.? Our speakers consisted of Sara Patenaude, PhD of Reinvestment Fund, Diana Stoian of Integral, Sharon D. Guest of Radiant Development Partners, and Margaret Stagmeier of Mission Partners. The conversation was lively and invigorating, and we can’t wait to see participants go on to pave new paths for women in development. “If the rules of the game are not in your favor, blow the bloody game up.” This program also welcomed our 2024 ChangeMaker cohort, and welcomed back ChangeMakers of past years. A new report by the Trust for Public Land explores the economic impact of parks and green spaces through case studies of five US cities. Our Executive Director Daphne Bond-Godfrey is featured in the report's Atlanta section, where she highlights how "developers are now thinking in really nuanced ways about open space, the pedestrian experience, and programming real estate to meet these needs." This project is in partnership with the Young Leaders Group (YLG) and will be a great way of connecting YLG members with more seasoned professionals. We are pleased to announce ULI Atlanta’s 2024-2025 Etkin Scholars!? Now in its 4th year, the program introduces college and university students with a real estate interest and degree focus to the resources available through ULI membership and seeks to integrate those students into the ULI path of learning. Through this program, ULI District Councils identify a cohort of graduate and undergraduate students and provide them with a welcoming and concrete entrée into ULI knowledge at the local and national levels with funding support, free ULI student membership, creative programming, networking, and learning opportunities throughout the academic year of their scholarship. Today ULI hosted Developing The Game: Atlanta Sports, Entertainment, and Commercial Real Estate moderated by Malaika Rivers. Our first panel, made up of Lewis Fisher of U.S. Soccer Federation, Adam Zimmerman of Atlanta Braves, and Michael Drake of Atlanta Hawks, dove into the business of mixed-use, sports-based developments. Our second panel with Robert Svedberg, FAIA of TVS, Meena Krenek of HKS, Inc., Matthew Dale of Impact Development Management, LLC, and Amy Phuong of Atlanta Hawks discussed the role of mixed-use sporting facilities in fan's experiences.
