On Wednesday, our CDC Fall meeting was held in the burgeoning inner suburb of Hapeville, GA. Nestled at the foot of the worlds busiest airport. The committee heard from Hapeville Mayor Alan Hallman; Southside author, artist, and urbanist Hannah Palmer; and a top notch panel of developers who have invested in the Hapeville market. The day was closed out with a waking tour led by Hapeville planning staff and a happy hour at Beer Girl Growlers, a locally owned small business. Thanks to the City of Hapeville for hosting us, and we look forward to seeing all our CDC friends again next year!

Yesterday was a beautiful day to check out the new Spring Quarter campus in Midtown. Developed by PORTMAN, Spring Quarter comprises a mixed-use complex including the Sora at Spring Quarter multifamily project, the Ten Twenty Spring office building, and retail components to further Midtown's growth into one of the nation’s premier submarkets. The project additionally encompasses the historic Spring Hill Chapel, which is set to become a new venue that will host guests from Midtown and beyond. Following the tour, attendees had time to network over cocktails in the Sora's luxurious sky lounge. Special thanks to Reid Scott and James Walsh for helping us bring this tour together and guiding us along the way yesterday!

Check out the latest interview with our new global CEO Angela Cain who opined on her thoughts about ULI thus far "ULI is its members. By leveraging our collective expertise—across the real estate sector and all around the world—we can devise cross-disciplinary solutions that not only address global trends but also make a tangible difference in local communities. That is ULI’s superpower."

For the first time in 15 years, ULI Atlanta’s Center for Leadership hit the road and did an overnight stay in Savannah for CFL’s Infrastructure Day led by Joseph Stryker, Jakob B. von Trapp, Jennie Lynn R., and Andrea Foard, AICP, LEED AP. The class started by taking a tour of the port thanks to the team at Georgia Ports Authority. The tour was sponsored by Kimley-Horn and Thomas & Hutton. (Shout-out to Laura Ballock, PLA and James Collins for making that happen!) Following the tour, the class enjoyed a happy hour at Starland Yard to meet and mingle with local ULI Savannah members. Thanks to the Savannah leadership team Patrick Shay, Laura Ballock, and Clara Fishel, CCIM for showing up and representing ULI Savannah and to Mariner Group and Regent Partners for sponsoring the happy hour! Finally, the class enjoyed a learning day at the Thompson Savannah hotel learning from local leaders on the Hyundai metaplant, the redevelopment of Plant Riverside, and infrastructure and economic development resulting from the Port’s growth. A huge thanks to all our speakers for making time in their schedules to speak to the class: Trip Tollison, Christopher N. Smith, Jason Chambless, Christian Sottile, Denise Grabowski, AICP, LEED AP, Stacy Watson, and Brad Saxon
