According to Food Research & Action Center (FRAC), low food security is linked to students’: - Higher levels of irritability, anxiety and depression ?? - Chronic stress ?? - Lower motivation and academic performance ?? - Difficulty getting along with peers ?? Ensuring equitable access to healthy, affordable school meals through federal nutrition initiatives like the National School Lunch, School Breakfast and Farm to School programs is crucial in bettering mental and behavioral health outcomes among children and adolescents.
