Congratulations to doctoral student, Erblin Shehu, for his two presentations on public health workforce and practice at the recent American Public Health Association conference!
It was an incredible experience presenting at the American Public Health Association (APHA) 2024 Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota! I had the opportunity to present and share insights in two sessions focused on workforce training and data utilization to enhance public health systems: Building a Health Equity Training Program That Fosters a Culture of Learning in Public Health Practice - In this session we presented our Building Health Equity Training Program and shared tools, resources, and activities that can be used to strengthen health equity in public health. https://lnkd.in/gp-KjZav Leveraging Public Health Workforce Data - In this poster session we shared how data from the Public Health Workforce Interests and Needs Survey (PH WINS) and the Governmental Public Health Job Task Survey (GPH JTS) could be used to support workforce planning and policy development for state and local public health systems. https://lnkd.in/gyiic62r Special thanks to the Midwestern Public Health Training Center (MPHTC) and the Prevention Research Center for Rural Health for their support, as well as to my co-presenters: Dr.Rima Afifi, Laurie Walkner , Tasneem Ali , Jeneane McDonald, DrPH, MPH, and Lina Tucker Reinders. Grateful for the chance to connect and learn with fellow public health professionals as we build a more resilient, data-informed, and equitable health system! #APHA2024 #PublicHealth #HealthEquity #WorkforceDevelopment #HealthData
