With $4 million in National Institutes of Health funding over the course of three years, a new UIC Center for Climate and Health Equity will explore climate change’s effects on human health, working with Chicago communities to address issues of environmental justice. The new Center is directed by SPH professor and UIC Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences division director Kristen Malecki. ? “The fact that we have a diverse student population as well as these strong community partnerships really makes UIC the best place to make this happen,” Malecki said. ?
