A super exciting day for community partners and the UHart community! Over 700 students and alumni attended the Career Fair hosted by UHart’s Allan Center for Career and Professional Development on Sept. 24. Over 100 companies from various industries, made this the largest Career Fair ever held on campus, completely filling the Chase Arena! Many student's came prepared with resumes and professional attire, courtesy of the Career Closet. Free professional headshots were also taken. UHart’s Allan Center for Career and Professional Development hosted its first ever Industry Appreciation Breakfast yesterday. They welcomed representatives from over 40 industry partners! President Ward and Provost Katherine Black spoke about UHart's commitment to strengthening our partnerships with industry leaders. Our industry partners and UHart Alumni enjoyed a wonderful breakfast spread from Aramark with Dean Josie Brown, Dean Aarti Ivanic, Dean Dale Merrill, Dean Hisham Alnajjar, and Dean Cesarina Thompson.

Thank you to the CGI in Hartford interns for donating clothes to Career Closet! The interns hosted a professional clothing drive with the goal to support a local university. Today, the interns had the opportunity to visit UHart’s Career Closet and deliver many bags of business casual/formal attire. We are grateful for their generous donation!

On April 18, UHart’s Allan Center for Career and Professional Development hosted the University’s first campus-wide Career Exploration Day. This event was open to both undergraduate and graduate students throughout UHart’s seven schools and colleges. Over 150 students visited 10 sites in the Greater Hartford Area. Students had the chance to shadow current employees, explore the facilities and operations, attend workshops, network with leading professionals, and speak with UHart alums that currently work for the organization. Students were also given a chance to hear from HR representatives on hiring timelines and expectations for internships and full-time employment. Thank you to the participating organizations! Last week, the Allan Center for Career and Professional Development hosted the first ever campus-wide Career Exploration Day! 150 students visited a variety of Greater Hartford area businesses, learning about potential future careers. Grace Dowling ‘24, who is majoring in business management and minoring in marketing said, “during my day at CVS Health I learned a lot about the leadership development program. The visit was a great experience and helped me see what I now want to do in my career. I recommend anybody to participate in Career Exploration Day!” We can't wait to make this a new campus tradition!
