This week, Grace Cate gained hands-on experience in restaurant operations at the Savannah Room. She trained a new employee, reinforcing her leadership skills, and worked in Restaurant365 on inventory management, recipe creation, and cost control. From customer service to behind-the-scenes operations, this internship is strengthening her skills and passion for hospitality! Go Hospitality Dawgs!

This week Noelle gained hands-on experience in operations and bartending, mastering inventory management, recipe inputs, and real-time financial adjustments. She also tackled high-pressure situations during busy bar shifts, ensuring seamless service for guests. On a daily basis, hospitality leaders need to adapt, innovate, and consistently deliver excellent service. Hello hospitality and tourism industry network and all HFIM and UGA alums, affiliated parents of current and past students, and hospitality and tourism professionals. Our faculty and students are planning our 2025 UGA Georgia Hospitality and Tourism Summit. It is a gathering of hospitality and tourism industry leaders, faculty, researchers, and professionals throughout the state and will be on May 5th. We are accepting donations for our silent auction which is managed by our students. The revenue from our silent auction is used to support student travel to conferences, company site visits, and helps with offsetting costs for on-campus lunch and learns and other activities. Last year various hotels, restaurants, attractions, and other companies donated certificates and gift items to be auctioned. Should you be interested in donating to this year's auction please message us directly and we'll have a student reach out to you about your donation.
