关于我们

For 15 years, the UFW Foundation has mobilized farm workers and their organizations across the country to advocate for more equitable policies, such as immigration reform, pesticide protections, heat standards, hazard pay, and other worker protections. We engage constituents in systemic change to break the cycle of poverty while also providing critical services. In fact, the UFW Foundation is the largest federally accredited immigration legal service provider in the state of California. The organization has staff in California, Washington, Arizona, Michigan, Washington D.C. and will be expanding to Georgia.

During a powerful and inspiring weekend commemorating the 60th Anniversary of “Bloody Sunday” in Selma, Ala. with LIFT partners and grantees, we paid homage to the leaders and activists before us whose coordinated, collective action and clear demand for economic and racial justice paved the way for Black people and others who are marginalized to participate in our democracy. At a time of deep uncertainty for workers, we also took a step forward in forging deeper? coordination and collective action that protects our democracy and helps transform the lives of workers in the South and nationally.? LIFT launched the Southern Workers Opportunity Fund (SWO) to be a catalyst for movement building in this region. It’s a labor of love for us to bring philanthropy and unions together to provide sustained, multiyear investments for organizations that are turning the tide for workers in the face of many generations-long systemic racism and economic oppression. SWO grantees prove everyday that progress is possible. At LIFT, we embrace our role as a convener and connector in our broader mission of bridging philanthropy, labor unions and other partners to coordinate resources, strategies and funding that supports worker power building. In the words of LIFT’s Executive Director Jennifer Epps, “together we have an opportunity to demand and create strong labor policies, pathways and standards to ensure that workers, particularly Black workers, have the power to improve their lives and communities.” We’re grateful to all SWO grantees and partners for their important work. We know whose shoulders we stand on and remain optimistic about the possibilities when we collaborate, center workers and build the power that’s essential to transforming our economy and democracy. Today, the UFW Foundation remembers and honors the courageous life and legacy of abolitionist and conductor of the Underground Railroad Harriet Tubman, who dedicated her life to fighting for freedom and equality. Her story continues to remind us of the importance of standing up for what is right and inspires us to fight for a more just world. Let us continue to honor her legacy by working towards a society where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. "Harriet Tubman, ca. 1868." ??? As we move the clocks forward, it’s important to remember how daylight savings impacts farm workers. ?? While many of us enjoy the extra daylight, farm workers often face longer hours in the fields, working through the hottest parts of the day to meet the demands of the season.

On this International Women’s Day, we celebrate the incredible power and beauty of women everywhere. *?QUE VIVA LA MUJER!* Our farmworker leaders, from all walks of life and diverse cultures, are the heart and soul of our nation, making it a better place with every step they take. They are mothers, aunts, sisters, neighbors — they are the women who shape our communities with their love, dedication, and unwavering strength. We are in constant awe of their resilience and determination to create brighter futures for generations to come. To every woman who sees this post, we want to express our deepest gratitude: Thank you for your strength, your tenacity, and the kindness you share with the world. You inspire us all, today and every day.

The Trump administration announced enforcement of a mandatory registry to force undocumented immigrants to provide their personal information to authorities. Noncompliance could result in steep fines or jail time. The administration's effort to "register" undocumented immigrants in the U.S. is only their latest attempt to further criminalize and terrorize our communities. This is a blatant attempt to intimidate immigrants and instill fear. To be absolutely clear: being undocumented doesn't make you a criminal.

?? ?? UFW Foundation Welcomes Re-Introduction of Dream and Promise Act!?? ?? Today, @ufwfoundation welcomed the re-introduction of the Dream and Promise Act of 2025 in the House of Representatives by Rep. Sylvia Garcia (D-Texas) and a bipartisan group of House sponsors. This legislation would create a pathway to citizenship for certain DACA recipients, immigrant youth, and some individuals with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) or Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) Erica Lomeli Corcoran, UFW Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “The Dream and Promise Act is a common-sense solution that would deliver long-overdue relief to millions of undocumented individuals who consider this country their home and have not only pursued their dreams and goals, but have invested back into our nation. With recent immigration raids and deportation threats terrorizing immigrant communities, members of Congress have a decision to make. Will they rise up against injustice, or will they remain silent while our neighbors suffer in the shadows? The choice is up to Congress, which has the power to make a difference. We urge all members to act and stand up for the values that define our nation, and to provide a pathway to citizenship for those who have known no other home.”

The Kern County raids last month were a cruel, baseless attack on the very workers who keep this nation running. Farmworker Xochilt told ABC News: "We are glad to be at work at 6 a.m. and have an hour commute... We do it happily, from the bottom of our hearts. Because we love this soil." They show up for us every single day. Now, it’s our turn to stand up for them. Who’s with us? https://lnkd.in/gwEgtuKp
