This past weekend, our Red Team went to the Southeast Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC) and took first place! The competition required teams to conduct a simulated penetration test for a fictitious company. During the competition, the team - which included Ayden Colby, Adam Hassan, Yuliang Huang, Tristan Ratchev, Avigail Laing, and Daniel A. - assessed the company's security by exploiting a wide variety of services over an 8-hour period. The team then spent the following 7 hours writing a 60+ page report identifying the state of the company's network, relevant findings, and possible mitigations and best practices the company could employ to improve its security. The team will continue to Globals in January. This year, the top three teams were all from Florida, with USF taking 2nd and UCF taking 3rd. Thanks to the regional hosts at Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center and Augusta University! As well as to the organizers at Global Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC) and all sponsors! #UF #UFSIT #CPTC #CyberFlorida #GeorgiaCyber #CyberEducation #Cybersecurity #IBM #BHIS
