The University of Florida College of Medicine Department of Anesthesiology comprises more than 90 clinical faculty, 10 research faculty, 95 residents, 21 fellows, 68 CRNAs and CAAs, and 47 administrative staff. Our anesthesiology faculty are trained in a variety of clinical subspecialties including critical care medicine, pediatrics, congenital heart anesthesiology, obstetric anesthesiology, and pain medicine. Research interests of our faculty span clinical and basic science, cognition, simulation training, and neurodegenerative disorders. Faculty typically publish more than 20 books/book chapters and 130 manuscripts each year and the department holds over 100 patents. We practice at the University of Florida Health. UF Health is the Southeast’s most comprehensive academic health center and is unique for its diverse collection of health colleges, centers and institutes, hospitals, faculty practices, and patient care programs.

We're excited to welcome two new CAAs to the department: Tyler Lehman, M.S., CAA, and?Mark VanEvery, M.S., CAA. Tyler has recently completed his Master of Science in Anesthesia from Nova Southeastern University in Tampa, FL. Tyler was inspired to pursue a career in anesthesia after seeing the impact the anesthesia team had on his mother during a series of operations she needed while he was an undergraduate here at the University of Florida. Outside of work, Tyler enjoys disc golf, hiking, trying new restaurants, and watching football. ? Mark has recently completed his Master of Science in Anesthesia at Nova Southeastern University in Jacksonville, FL. He was drawn to anesthesia due to opportunities for immediate problem solving in the OR. Outside of work, Mark enjoys walking his dogs, cooking, and spending time with his family.
