A huge thank you to Clayton at Smart North Florida and Ray Hawat, Ph.D. for helping us kick off an incredible launch for the UF AIS Consulting Committee! We’d also like to thank our VPs of Consulting, Victor Frcek and Trent Burger, for their leadership in guiding the committee through another successful launch and helping make all of this possible! After participating in training and retreat activities with Clayton at the Smart North Florida headquarters, each of our project teams successfully launched and met with their clients in Jacksonville, FL! During these meetings, they introduced themselves and outlined the scope of their projects. Following our Jacksonville retreat, we held our first committee meeting where Ray Hawat led a session for all of our Project Managers and Analysts. He covered key project considerations and strategies to avoid scope creep. Thanks to these lessons, our teams are well-prepared to manage their projects and deliver remarkable outcomes for our clients by the end of the year. As we look ahead, we’re excited about the challenges and opportunities this semester will bring. Our teams are ready to deliver exceptional value to our clients, and we can’t wait to showcase what’s next!

The inaugural AIS Case Competition was a success! Judged by UF MBA students, several teams completed an SEC case by researching and proposing a 5-year investment strategy for a specified Fortune 500 company.?The winning team, Max Cathey-Jordan, Prathik Narayan, Aadit Kamat, and Trent Burger, presented a new technology portfolio for FedEx to reduce an estimated $4 billion in costs by 2025. Thank you to those who participated, and congratulations to the winners! This has been an incredible opportunity for our members to refine their casing skills and we cannot wait to host another one ??

Earlier this month, our Executive Board was honored for their outstanding service to the University of Florida. Their efforts in fostering community, organizing enriching events, and providing invaluable resources for our members have made a lasting impact on the MS-ISOM program. Congratulations to Jenna Burns, Thomas Gilfix, Ethan Palmer, Jacob Warchola, Victor Frcek, Adrian Mendoza, Grady Svetly, and Madeline Wise - your hard work has not gone unnoticed!?? Another special shout-out goes to our President, Jenna, for earning the ISOM Outstanding Graduate Student of the Year Award! Your leadership, dedication, and passion have been instrumental to the success of our organization and we cannot wait to see what’s next for you. Lastly, thank you to Ryan Chin Hing and Linda Netherton, MBA for your guidance and support throughout the year. We truly couldn't have done it without you!

A huge congratulations is in order for our Consulting Committee on the successful completion of their Spring 2024 projects in partnership with Smart North Florida! Led by our Vice Presidents of Consulting Adrian Mendoza and Victor Frcek, four teams of skilled project managers and analysts collaborated closely throughout the semester to tackle complex challenges and craft innovative solutions using data analysis. Students connected with stakeholders from ?? Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), ?? Three Rivers Legal Services, Inc., ??? BEAM, and ?? WeCareJax in developing project scopes that ranged from transforming datasets and automating processes to analyzing service history and enhancing healthcare access. By leveraging advanced technology and data insights, each team directly addressed the needs of our clients and created tangible, positive change in our communities. Their work this semester showcases the truly remarkable outcomes that stem from collaboration, innovation, and dedication, and we extend our deepest gratitude to SNF and their partners for these incredible opportunities to give back. We are thrilled to announce that our student chapter was recently recognized for Outstanding Fiscal Responsibility in the 2022-2023 academic year by AIS Nationals! Congratulations to the entire 2022-2023 Executive Board for this remarkable achievement, with special recognition to President Alec Unland and Vice President of Treasury Jenna Burns for their exemplary leadership. This achievement wouldn't have been possible without the dedication and hard work of every member of UF AIS.
