Thank you William "Bill" Hamilton for inviting me to be a guest lecturer in your #eDiscovery and Complex Litigation classes at University of Florida - Fredric G. Levin College of Law yesterday. I enjoyed returning to my alma mater, speaking to your students and answering their questions. I looked forward to returning again for #UFEDISCO25 in February. I spoke about my career and the importance of networking, about #beasleyallen and our practice groups, and about my work supporting our attorneys working on MDLs and consolidated litigations with ediscovery. Michael Quartararo and Maribel Rivera I also spoke about how important Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists (ACEDS) and my #CEDS certification has been to my career.

We enjoyed hearing from Bansri M. McCarthy of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP in the session?"E-Discovery Unwrapped: Key Insights from 2023's Legal Landscape" at?#UFEDISCO24. Bansri’s insights were a key highlight, demonstrating the critical importance of aligning Information Governance and e-discovery to stay ahead in today’s legal landscape. Since the 2024 conference, some of our planning committee members have mentioned the growing need for a session focused on Information Governance in next year's conference. Now, we want to hear from YOU – should #UFEdisco25 feature a panel on Information Governance? Let us know your thoughts in the comments! ???? #Ediscovery #InfoGov #LegalTech

Three weeks into our semester, we were thrilled to welcome Jon Rowe from Pinpoint Labs as our first guest lecturer. This collaboration marks another step in our ongoing effort to provide students with practical, hands-on experience in e-discovery. Pinpoint Labs provides our students invaluable exposure to cloud collections, a crucial component of modern e-discovery practices. This practical experience helps students understand the collection phase of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (#EDRM) in real-world scenarios. Jon shared his expertise with a superb presentation on the "Roadblocks to Defensible Collection" highlighting critical issues such as: 1. Lack of hash validation 2. Chain of custody breaks 3. Complexities in remote cloud collections These insights are essential for future legal professionals to ensure the integrity and admissibility of digital evidence. Our relationship with Jon and Pinpoint Labs extends beyond this guest lecture. As one of the original faculty members for our e-discovery conference, Jon has been instrumental in shaping our program. Continuing his long tradition of support for e-discovery education at the University of Florida Levin College of Law last semester and this semester, Pinpoint provided our students access to their cutting-edge collection platform, CrossCopy Enterprise, further enriching their learning experience. (You can read more about the results last year at https://lnkd.in/e_2M-6wa.) We're grateful for the continued support from Jon and the entire Pinpoint team in advancing our e-discovery education initiatives. What do you think are the key aspects of cloud collections that law students should understand for litigation and investigations? Share your thoughts in the comments below. #ediscovery #cloudcollections #legaltech #continuingeducation
