"In the past five years, we've treated 30 children from Australia with a variety of diagnoses," said Dr. Danny. A recent study found that proton therapy offers significant advantages for lung cancer patients with multiple lesions, reducing radiation exposure to healthy lung tissue and nearby organs compared to VMAT, a form of X-ray radiation. Through dosimetric treatment planning, the study provided valuable evidence to help radiation oncologists determine the most effective and safest treatment options for lung cancer patients.
