Can we do it all again? ??? A little over a week ago, we came together to celebrate the strength, resiliency, and spirit of first-generation students and alumni in New York City. Our inaugural Giving Gala raised almost $6,000! We hope this is the first of many. But, for now, we want to thank everyone for their support!

We're kicking off First-Gen Fun Fact Fridays! This week we're highlighting Mohamad Merilan. Fun Fact: English is not my native language even though I was born in the US. It’s Haitian-Creole. Favorite UF Memory: A close friend generously donated during our 2017 Ms. Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant, ensuring that every contestant received scholarship money for school. In collaboration with the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Program, a new opportunity for flash mentorship through the Trailblazers Network is coming soon ?? What is flash mentorship? Flash mentorship is a one-time or as-needed mentoring experience designed to connect UF students with accomplished alumni through the Gator Network. This means as a mentor you can choose your desired level of commitment. This initiative is designed to offer quick advice to students as they navigate their professional aspirations and is perfect for busy students and alumni who may not have the time for a traditional mentoring experience.
