It is with great excitement that we welcome Mr. TYsean Lawson-Bey as our new Pathway Director for the Construction Program. A native Washingtonian, Mr. TY brings a wealth of experience and passion to the UDC WDLL community. The Construction Pathway is in capable hands with Mr. TYsean Lawson-Bey leading the charge. We look forward to the impact he will undoubtedly make in educating and empowering district residents for gainful employment. ?????????? ????. ???????????? ????????????-??????: Mr. TYsean started his career in building maintenance, completing Electrical Wiring at the Potomac Job Corps Center in 1999. With a comprehensive background in every facet of Building Maintenance, from entry-level tech to Regional Maintenance Supervisor,Mr. TYsean holds several industry certifications and licenses. In 2015, Mr. TYsean became an adjunct professor at the Center for Employment Training in Alexandria, VA. His dedication led to one of the highest job retention rates and above-average industry wages for his students. Under his leadership, the Building Maintenance program gained national recognition in 2018, finishing 5th in the NCCER "I Built This" Skills competition. Notably, Mr. TYsean played a pivotal role in bringing the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) to CET Alexandria Chapter 4709. Joining UDC WDLL in 2020, TY continues his journey, guiding the next generation of engineers and technicians. In 2022, Mr. TYsean was recognized by NCCER as a Subject Matter Expert, highlighting his expertise and commitment to the field. His determination, 'never quit' attitude, and core values are credited to his mother, shaping his strong character.
