The UD Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence (AICoE) is co-directed by Prof(s). Sunita Chandrasekaran and Kathleen McCoy from the Dept. of Computer & Information Sciences. The center aims to build the next-generation workforce and also explore multidisciplinary scientific problems to accelerate the pace of scientific innovation across campus in foundations and applications of AI as well as in their enabling high-performance computing (HPC) technologies. Our goal is to increase UD’s competitiveness by stimulating and capitalizing on existing AI work across campus and to foster interdisciplinary AI work both within the university and with industrial and academic partners. We will catalyze interdisciplinary science collaborations, impacting research and education across campus, leveraging resources of world-class supercomputing for scientific innovations and advances.

We couldn't have had a better group for this panel! So grateful to the AI Center of Excellence at University of Delaware for organizing this conversation focused on how industry, academia, and government can work together for more responsible use of AI. What a great capstone for the Tech the Halls event! It was a wonderful conversation about workforce, ethics, and policy between Rep. Krista Griffith, Rita Landgraf, Johannes Doerfert, Patrick Callahan, and myself with thoughtful moderation from Sunita Chandrasekaran. I loved hearing the variety of opinions across the panelists and the thoughtful questions from the audience. There are no easy answers to these questions, but significant thought and work that needs to be put into them. If you're interested in more of these conversations, consider sitting in on meetings for the State of Delaware's AI Commission, which is chaired by Rep. Griffiths and Sunita Chandrasekaran!

#announcement AMPL Release 1.6.3 resulting from the #UDelATOMHackathon Following the UD-ATOM Hackathon, the ATOM AMPL Developers and Herman S., #mentor for #Team Code Guardians, came together to #integrate Team Code Guardian's Pull Requests that included fixing the code and implementing continuous integration that would benefit AMPL in three ways:??? 1. Increased?developer productivity, 2. Encouraged?new contributors, and 3. Included Ruff Linter into our software development pipeline. ?
