?? UCSF and CMSS Award Grants to Improve Diagnostic Feedback in Clinical Registries
The University of California, San Francisco, in partnership with the Council of Medical Specialty Societies (CMSS), has awarded grants to medical specialty societies to enhance diagnostic feedback for clinicians. Funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, these grants will support efforts to improve diagnostic performance in ophthalmology, lung cancer detection, lupus nephritis, and pediatric conditions.
Ben Rosner, MD, PhD, Principal Investigator for the project at UCSF, shared: “We are excited to support these societies with funding to turn these plans into reality. We hope that these will serve as models in healthcare for providing feedback on diagnostic performance that will ultimately benefit patients.”
In addition to individual grants, UCSF and CMSS will coordinate cross-specialty learning to promote best practices in diagnostic performance feedback.
Helen Burstin, MD, MPH, MACP, CMSS’s CEO and co-lead of the project, said: "It has been gratifying to see our specialty society members with clinical registries embrace new and innovative approaches to diagnostic feedback for their physician members.”
