One of our proudest achievements was the creation of the UCR Black Alumni Chapter Endowed Scholarship. We started this endeavor years ago, and persisted tirelessly until it was finalized. Thank you past presidents Bert Wright and Keona Henderson for your leadership and persistence throughout this journey, and thanks to our current chapter President Marvel Johnson for keeping it going! A special shout out to Jamal Myrick, Ed.D. and the UCR African Sudents Programs for always supporting our scholars. It truly takes a village! We look forward to awarding more scholarships in 2025. UC Riverside homecoming was one for the books! We co-hosted a phenomenal mixer with UCR African Student Programs. It was a time filled with networking, reconnecting, and a dynamic panel of speakers featuring UCR Black Alumni who provide insights into their industries. Afterwards, we enjoyed a concert featuring Flo Rida. Special thanks to University of California, Riverside and UCR Alumni Association for making this happen!
