UConn Start-up, The Feel Good Lab, gets boost from ‘The View’
On January 27th, The Feel Good Lab, a holistic health start-up based at UConn’s Technology Incubation Program (TIP), was featured on 'The View' as part of the popular gab fest’s “View Your Deal” segment. In the segment, co-hosts Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin talk to consumer products reviewer Gretta Monahan, about her and her family’s personal experience using The Feel Good Lab’s Sports Recovery Lotion.
“(It was developed) by a pharmacist who specialized in creating these topical formulations for over 30 years in his homegrown family business. It really works. I’ve used this with my family. They even have a sports formula that I use for Kai after sports,” Monahan says referring to her own daughter’s use of the cream. As the co-hosts apply the cream, Monahan assures the hosts and the viewers, “You will love it!”
The Feel Good Lab is no stranger to utilizing television to promote its products. Ryan Gresh ’09, CEO and co-founder, says the product spotlight built upon the success of this past summer’s feature the company enjoyed on Good Morning America where he recalled, “We were getting 20 calls an hour and hundreds of emails. We almost sold out.”?With The View segment, they also experienced a surge in orders-- 2,200 in one day!
Momentum keeps building for the company which recently closed on a successful round of funding. Ryan McMillian, Director of Venture Development at UConn’s Technology Incubator Program (TIP), says, “Their product promotions validate the success and attention the company is garnering as they utilize this latest round of funding to grow the business and further expand their market share.”?Gresh agrees crediting UConn TIP with providing the networking opportunities that have fueled the company’s growth.
TIP, the state’s largest Tech incubator, is part of UConn’s Technology Commercialization Services which works with innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, and industry partners to transform UConn discoveries into products, companies, and jobs that benefit society and fuel economic development.
