  • UCM’s Bob Gierszal and Tony Bruno – our SVP and Chairman of our Projects Division, respectively - represented UCM at the recent TPM25 event in Long Beach. Aside from being an informative and productive time, it also gave a chance to gather together with a number of clients and long-time industry friends. We’re looking forward to continuing to build these relationships and invite you to join us as we work to deliver creative solutions in a complex world.

  • All work and no play is no fun! Everyone needs to unwind a little every now and then, so today we decided to roll out a lunch break for our staff. When the clock struck noon, ping pong took over one part of our office and the other became UCM’s 19th hole. This bit of friendly competition helps build camaraderie, fosters teamwork throughout the office and relieves a bit of the stress that can come with making possible the cargo moves we handle that can sometimes seem impossible to others. Let us know when you’d like to stop by and we’ll roll out the green for you, too!

  • In business, the beauty of transparency is lost far too often, but at UCM, our systems provide track and trace transparency for every customer we serve. ? Early last year we told you about our integration of Quantum’s services into our systems, and ever since our customers have had unprecedented levels of information about every one of their cargo movements at their fingertips. True transparency, on demand, 24/7, that allows them to see where their shipments have been, are going, and when they’ll get there. Quantum shifts every item within every one of your shipments from being a transaction to becoming a business process that works with you and for you. ? We’d love to tell you more and show you what this new level of transparency and accessibility can do for you, too. We invite you to call us at +1 843-856-1833, visit us on the web at www.ucmchs.com, or email us at [email protected]. Our phones are always on and we can’t wait to speak with you.

  • 2024 was a banner year for UCM and our customers, with an abundance of creative cargo moves, charter opportunities and expanded network alliances and resources. Moving into 2025 we expect more upward trajectory ahead and we can’t wait to see the challenges the new year will bring and the innovative solutions we’ll be able to come up with to tackle them. ? As far as how we view our industry, there are only 2 types of customers in the marketplace: those who know we will help solve problems others may see as insurmountable, and those who just haven’t met us yet. To all of you, our friends, customers and partners of today and the future, we offer you all our best wishes for this holiday season and a happy, healthy and prosperous new year ahead!

  • We have been extraordinarily proud to be a board member of SeaBlue Project Logistics Network, so traveling to Bangkok to attend the group’s first annual general meeting was a given. Our CEO, Carlton “Tres” Blair, was on hand to meet with our network partners and provide a presentation on our operations and the ways we contribute to the group’s success. UCM was also honored to be a recipient of SeaBlue’s Network Ambassador award at the close of the meeting. ? Our footprint and business network keeps growing, giving our customers more flexibility and more options for profitability. Give us a call today and let us help you with your next move.

  • There aren’t a lot of opportunities to fill up between California and Hawaii, so when a helicopter needs to be repositioned it needs some expertise and TLC to get it there, ready to fly when it arrives.?So, when our new customer needed a ride for this Airbus D2 from San Diego to Honolulu, they called on us to make sure this beauty arrived safe and sound. That’s exactly what we did, with our own Hank Harden having his boots on the ground at both locations to assure a smooth and uneventful delivery.?? ? Whatever you’re moving, give us a call whenever you have a shipment that needs special care. We look forward to speaking with you!

  • Great news last night that the ILA strike had come to a tentative end. But the potential for transportation and supply chain disruption remains on the horizon, so we sent our perspective about the situation to our customers earlier today. We've attached a copy of this installment of our ongoing series, UCM In Focus, here for your review, too. Now is the time to develop plans to keep possible hurdles from affecting your cargo flow. If you'd like to find out how we can help you avoid them now and in the future, we're looking forward to speaking with you.

  • Our Senior Vice President, Robert "Bob" A. Gierszal Jr., and the Chairman of our Projects Division, Salvador "Tony" Bruno are attending RE+ Anaheim, meeting with renewable energy interests about how we can provide creative, personalized solutions for their transportation needs. There are more than 1,000 exhibitors here and we’re trying to get to all of them, but that doesn’t make us too busy to hear about you and your needs! If you’re at the event and would like to learn a bit more about our capabilities - or if you can’t make it but are curious about how we can help boost your efficiency and bottom line - just contact Bob or Tony and they’ll be happy to speak with you!

  • Back on July 30th we told you about how we created a hub for deliveries at Humen, China for a new trans-Pacific opportunity, transporting cargo from 6 different Asian locations to the US West Coast. We’re pleased to announce the first of these chartered vessels recently arrived and offloaded at the Port of LA and will be followed by others. ? “We are in the opportunities and solutions business,” says Salvador "Tony" Bruno, Chairman of our Projects Division. “Knowing the marketplace well allows us to identify opportunities, and many decades of combined experience gives us the know-how to create solutions, often in ways that have never been available previously. These container moves are just one example of how we help customers find new possibilities for profitability.” ? Give Tony a call and let us help you find your next opportunity in creative cargo management.
