National CAPACD was honored to serve on a panel on AAPI Hidden Homelessness at the 2024 AAPI Policy Summit alongside USC's Dr. Lois Takahashi, CA Assemblymember Phil Ting, and moderated by our former ED, Lisa Hasegawa. Thank you to the UCLA Asian American Studies Center, the CA API Legislative Caucus, and the CA Commission on APIA Affairs for hosting a great event that brought together policy, research, and practitioners from our community. It was a great opportunity to catch up with our members Little Tokyo Service Center and EPIC.

Last week California Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander American Affairs had the privilege of co-convening the AAPI Policy Summit: Moving from Collective Knowledge to Action, along with UCLA Asian American Studies Center, Karen Umemoto, Melany De La Cruz and the AAPI Legislative Caucus Isa Whalen, Lucy Khuu. With our focus on reimaging a future for AA NHPI and Desi communities, we discussed solutions that will establish equitable institutions, policies, and systems with a goal of social justice for all. A special thanks to our Commissioners Kirin Amiling Macapugay and former Commissioner Cirian Villavicencio, Ed.D., M.P.A. for leading the way on this summit. We had the privilege of hearing from Attorney General of California Rob Bonta as our keynote and AssemblyMembers Phil Ting , Mike Fong and @Al Muratsuchi who have lead the way on #APIEquityBudget along with AAPILC members. Our communities resilience, innovation, and dedication continue to make California a vibrant and inclusive place to live and work. As a diverse community, we must harness our collective knowledge and take action to create a future where power, representation, and care lead to enduring impact. #strongertogether We are so grateful to each and everyone for pulling together a successful summit! ??

Thank you UCLA Policy Summit for providing a platform to discuss Asian American and Pacific Islander influence in the 2024 Election!
