During our recent workshop with David Brooks, Fellows participated in an open dialogue about how social change happens. This insightful conversation explored shifting from a professional mindset to a generative mindset and considering what history may be asking of us right now. Thank you, David, for creating space to reflect on theories of change, where Fellows might be of greatest service, and how to listen to the needs that summon them.

We’re truly energized to see the documentary release of 2024-2025 LSI Fellow, Kurt Roger Cherry. About Mister Abbott, and quoting (Ret) Col. Eugene Scott, Sengstacke Family member and former Publisher of the Chicago Defender from the film - "It's a great story, but it's not a great story if you don't tell it to anybody." Fertile extends an abundance of gratitude to the Chicago Community Trust, Field Foundation, Darrell B. Jackson, Andrea Green Thompson, and Dr. Bonnie C. Davis for their generous support of the production of Mister Abbott. We also thank the Independent Film Alliance Chicago and the Monroe Foundation for their invaluable assistance.
