关于我们
Our academic programs, consistently ranked among the top programs in the nation by U.S. News and World Report, are led by some of the most prominent experts within electrical and computer engineering fields, including computer systems and architectures, cyber-physical systems micro- and nano-systems and electromagnetics. Our students’ academic journeys are complemented by cutting-edge research experiences that help them develop innovative problem-solving skills. They have myriad opportunities to publish their discoveries, present their innovations to peers and industry professionals, and bring their imaginative ideas to life under the guidance of faculty mentors who are engaged in a wide range of sponsored and commercialized research. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is housed within the College of Engineering and Computer Science, one of 13 colleges at UCF. It includes the Florida Power & Light and GE Digital Microgrid Control Lab, a state-of-the-art research facility featuring control-center equipment and software to simulate and test real-life grid control operations, designed to help find ways to optimize and secure the grid of the future. Our department also partners with industry giants such as Intel, Texas Instruments, AMD and Northrop Grumman to provide our students with mentorships and the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge to the real world through undergraduate internships.

This week we celebrated National Engineers Week, hosted by the Engineering Leadership and Innovation Institute at UCF. I’m so grateful for everyone who came out and participated throughout the week, and our team who spent months planning E-Week 2025, and especially our lead Sasha Haddad! I’m extremely grateful to be presented the Alfiers Award for best event. Huge thank you to my team in Theta Tau Rho Gamma Chapter who worked really hard to make the Escape Room event possible. Lastly, thank you to everyone who came and presented at the reception- Shane Van Horn, Mitchell Consuegra-Hunsucker, and JC Perez! Special thanks to John A. Lamberton for being our Keynote Speaker.

We had such an incredible time at the Orlando Science Center's Spark STEM Fest! Check out these great photos of Assistant Professor Mohsen Rakhshan, Ph.D.'s session featuring the Unitree Go1 robot dogs. It was a big hit with the pup-arrazzi! Thank you to the University of Central Florida - Office of Research for organizing such a fantastic event.
