Nearly 200 attendees participated in the 6th Annual C-STEM Symposium (https://lnkd.in/gGxKTjqP) on March 18, 2025, in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Organized by the UC Davis Center for Integrated Computing and STEM Education (C-STEM) and Alvord Unified School District, the event brought together educators, administrators, and STEM leaders from across California. Krista Fairley, Ed.D., Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services for Alvord USD, and Harry Cheng, Director of the C-STEM Center, welcomed attendees with the theme “The Art of Student Engagement for Learning Math with Coding and Robotics.” The symposium featured inspiring keynote speakers: Superintendent Ted Alejandre, San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, delivered a keynote on "STEM without Limits: Empowering Educators to Shape Future Innovators," encouraging educators to explore new opportunities in STEM education. Dani Hreha, Director of Engineering, Internal Applications, at Snap Inc., shared her personal journey and success story, highlighting the profound impact of K-12 education in shaping future STEM leaders and innovators. In a plenary panel discussion, Mauricio Arellano, Superintendent of San Bernardino City Unified School District, and Alfonso Jiménez, Ed.D., Superintendent of Hacienda La Puente Unified School District, provided valuable insights on transforming K-12 math education through coding and robotics. Throughout the day, 18 breakout sessions featured administrators and teachers sharing best practices, success stories, and live teaching demonstrations on integrating math, computer science, and engineering design to enhance student achievement. We extend our sincere appreciation to all keynote and plenary speakers, presenters, and attendees for making this symposium a resounding success in advancing K-12 STEM education through coding and robotics.
