#CREEO is excited to share Christine Quince, Ph.D.'s, contribution to a special issue in Education Policy Analysis Archives (EPAA), Program Design and Exemplary Practices for Preparing Teachers of Color and Indigenous Teachers. ?? This special issue, co-authored by Felicia Moore Mensah, PhD, Christine Quince, Ph.D., and Weadé James, Ph.D., explores a gap in research on U.S. teacher education programs that prepare Teachers of Color and Indigenous Teachers (TOCIT). It examines both traditional and alternative pathways, describes pedagogical and theoretical practices, and analyzes the policy landscape shaping these programs. Alizia is a fine arts educator and first-year NBRC Candidate Support Program candidate, pursuing National Board Certification!? ? She traveled for seven years, teaching and making art. In 2022, she returned to her hometown, Oakland, and currently teaches fine arts at Skyline High School. Alizia is enrolled in the Master's program in Curriculum and Instruction at SF State, where she aspires to publish her thesis on her learning and teaching experiences?so far. - What is the NBRC Candidate Support Program? → https://lnkd.in/gg-qB-ZJ The NBRC, one of CREEO’s key projects, provides support to teachers seeking professional development and National Board Certification (NBC), recognized as the "gold standard" of teacher certification. This special issue, co-authored by Conra Gist, Travis J. Bristol, Ph.D., and Saili Kulkarni, Ph.D., builds on previous works by Gist and Bristol. It expands the focus to policy-driven articles co-created by policymakers and researchers, offering evidence-based recommendations to address educator diversity at all levels.
