At the University of Arizona Imaging Technology Laboratory (ITL), researchers are developing some of the world's most advanced astronomical image sensors! College of Engineering researchers are spearheading innovations in hypersonic vehicle technologies with a $3.1 million grant from the U.S. Army. This funding supports the development of Mach-X vehicles capable of exceeding five times the speed of sound using advanced metallic alloys and 3D printing techniques! This project, aligned with national security and manufacturing priorities, also provides vital training for students in high-tech manufacturing roles, enhancing U.S. capabilities in defense. The 2025 Annual MEZCOPH Poster Forum on April 4 at U of A's Drachman Hall will focus on the theme of Building Resilient Communities: Public Health Strategies for the Future. From 1-5 p.m., this event will explore effective ways to enhance community resilience against challenges like pandemics and climate change, emphasizing adaptability, equity and sustainability.
